Boulevard Der Stars competition entry made from SensiTile Terrazzo

“Boulevard Der Stars was a very interesting one, it was one of the first high profile projects we had. Someone from Zaha Hadid’s office contacted me because they were participating in this competition in Berlin to create a walk of fame. They were looking for interesting paving or tiling that could be inserted into the walkway in a busy pedestrian street. It was a very quick one month of extremely intensive work where they were sending us their initial larger senses of how they would see this thing growing and tiles being inserted.

We made a prototype for them, a very beautiful large tile. I think partially based on that they won the competition but I don’t think it actually went the next step. The Berlin Film Academy at the time that I heard about it couldn’t gather the necessary funds.” —Lath
